Ground Forces Approved
These shoes are awesome for everyday use; from ground-force military work to taking your kids to the park, they have become my favorite shoes. I have wide feet and usually wear sizes 11 - 12, depending on the brand. I originally ordered an 11, and they were too small, so I went with a 12. The 12s are a tad big but very comfortable, they work well for foot swelling on long rucks and/or running. I will also order a size 11.5 to see how those fit as well. I have bad ankles for all the reasons, so they are very particular about what works and what doesn't. Despite how they look, they are very supportive. I've had plantar fasciitis and ankle surgeries. If your command allows, I wouldn't hesitate to try these with the nice military discount Merrell so graciously provides for service members. They break in and hold your foot in place very well. The more I wear them, the more comfortable they become. My last hike was on high-altitude, violent terrain in the Cascade mountains; their grip on the very steep decomposed pumice mountain sides was very impressive. Thank you, Merrell. I hope you never discontinue these shoes.

My Favorite Casual Shoes
