These come out the box with a good insole and minimal break in time, I’ve had some 14-18 hour days on them and while my feet are tired and fatigued at the end of the day, they don’t hurt. They also provide great ankle support. I’ve worn it hiking, inside of shoothouse training, and during hog hunts and it’s been a very reliable sturdy shoe for me. While it may be labeled “waterproof” I wouldn’t walk through deep water or soak them for hours on end and expect perfectly dry feet, it’s unrealistic and not what it’s built for in my opinion, it will keep them dry in rain or more shallow ankle deep water, or walking through wet fields. However nothing is perfect, if your looking for something to keep your feet from sweating this isn’t it, with them being the waterproof version your feet are going to sweat pretty good, I knew this going into it and therefor it didn’t bother me. But I would recommend a different version if you want a nice breathable shoe. The other thing I would change is how thick the tongue is, it doesn’t really rub or create hot spots or sit weird it’s just a personal preference thing for me.
