My recent experience with these shoes is somewhat limited. I recently had to have my left leg amputated below the knee and had to have several surgeries to save my right foot. All appears to be well now and I have very recently have received an artificial limb for my left leg. The shoes provided for the artificial leg were too tight (width wise) and the soles did not fill me with confidence against slips. I chose the Moab 3 Wide Width for the contoured shape of the sole, the rugged tread (makes me feel safe) and the width for my remaining right foot that I most earnestly need to protect. Thus far, the Moab 3 shoes are precisely what I needed. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is because they are still quite new and as I am still learning to walk again with my prosthesis, I haven't yet been able to get outside in the hills to test them out. I am looking forward very much to giving them their first test spin on the trail. At this point, I am very pleased and would surely purchase another pair when I have worn these out. Thanks!
