I just recently took my new boots on a 4-day backpacking trip in eastern Oregon, and they did not disappoint. Throughout my entire 23-mile journey, my feet were always comfortable and dry, especially when crossing through rivers and during the rain, hail, and snow. Moab 3, Like A Moab 2 But Actually Waterproof ;)

I bought a pair of Moab 2s in 2020. They wouldn't stay dry so Merrell kindly send me another pair and said to keep the first (bonus points!). After wearing one or the other every day for an hour walk over 5 years (fantastic boots), it's time to replace. I bought a Moab 3, same size (+1), same comfort, and it survived a walk through wet grass without soaking my socks unlike either of the 2s. I see no reason to buy any other brand of hiking boot.

Waterproofing

I decided to give Merrel a try. Hiked in the Tatra mountains this spring and loved them. 6 months later they have losted the waterproofing. After only six months? Disappointed!!
