Not As Good As The Moab 2s

I have been wearing Merrell Moabs for decades at this point, and this is my second pair of the 3s. As with the first, I do not like them as much as the 2s. The fit is tighter (2s were always pretty much perfect right out of the box) and more 'platformy', definitely more hiking shoe than trail runner. My first pair has stretched a bit and is more comfortable so I expect this pair will as well, but they don't hold a candle to the last pair of 2s that I have. Also, I bought these as part of a Black Friday sale and the only thing available in my size was the Merrell waterproof version (not the Gortex). I normally do not get the waterproof, and one of the first things I noticed when trying them on was how 'crinkley' they sound, at least in a quiet room, like there is a tissue paper layer throughout the shoe. I can only assume this is the Merrell waterproofing layer as none of my others have ever made this noise.

Fantastic Shoe

Fantastic shoe, super comfortable for long walk and being water proof is excellent in the winter and when it rains. Love this shoe. Hope the soles will wear out before the uppers do.
