Amazing City/dayhike/sneakers For Long Journeys

I’m excited to share my experience with the sneakers. I bought them specifically for my trip to Japan! This adventure included 3-4 days of hiking, and I also wanted something stylish to complement my outfits. I'm thrilled to say these sneakers truly delivered! While I wish I could have tried them on in person first—since I had to size up—, another customization made was a change in the insole. After those tweaks, they were perfect! I comfortably walked 30 to 40 steps each day, making my journey both enjoyable and memorable. The design, which gave my feet comfort, and the Gore-Tex technology made all the difference. I slipped into a river mid-hike, and my feet were completely dry.

Good Shoe If You Stick With Them

I am in Madeira hiking with these shoes now. Upside is after being broken in the are comfort, have great grip and have very good water resistance. I have about 100 km on the shoes, no sign of wear. They do take a long time to soften up and fit, feel really comfortable.

They Quack Like A Duck.

The shoes have just reached their one-year mark, but I've encountered a significant issue. About two months ago, they developed a squeak in both heels, which has now transformed into a ridiculous quacking sound with every step I take. It's downright embarrassing to walk through grocery store aisles. I’m certain the source of the problem lies in the four gray nubs on the bottom of the heel. If you’re looking for shoes that will attract attention and provoke laughter, these are definitely the pair you want!

Had High Hopes But Did Not Work For Me

I had great success with the NOVA 3 GORETEX and was hoping this would be the replacement shoe for me since the NOVA water-proofing tech change led many reviewers to dislike the shoe. The speed did not work for me for these reasons: 1. Very stiff uncomfortable shoe - felt like walking on cement. After 8 miles I was hurting. 2. Lots of heel movement 3. Wide was OK in toe box but regardless of how shoed laced toe slid forward on down hill.

Love them! They have lots of space for wide feet without looking clunky. Looks good as street shoes, but tough enough for some light trails. And GTX is so handy for those days where you didn't think it would rain.

Hoping These Moab Speed 2’s Are Durable!

I rated these Moab Speed 2 Shoe three stars as I love the shoes but I am concerned with Merrrell’s level of shoe quality these days. It might be a bit unfair as I will have to see if these Merrell’s hold up. The reason I think people buy multiple pairs of Merrell’s is that they used to be rock solid hiking shoes. The last couple of pairs that I have bought have disappointed me with the shoe’s durability. I hope my faith in Merrill product is re-established with this pair of Moab Speed 2’s.

Great Shoe

Bought these for a trip to Europe. Averaged 8 miles per day on city streets, cobblestones and lite hiking trails. They broke in pretty fast but it did require a minor break in period. Added my arch supports and the shoes were very comfortable. The Blue and White looking one online is actually Blue and light gray.

I had these delivered for about a week now, wearing them on a daily work day, and Speed 2 Gore-Tex are the most uncomfortable sneaker style Merrells I have had. Not only is the support lack, if you are not double layer socked, they are going to tear your feet up. For whatever reason the fabric on the top of the shoe’s roughness goes right through to your toes and tears them apart. The shoe is not well made either, the seams are already crunching apart. I love Merrell but these are not a recommended shoe. Sorry guys

Lots Of Vertical Space. Not Good For Narrower Feet

I tried these out and the didn't work for me. The length felt right, but there was to much vertical space with significant heal lift. I laced a heal lock loop and that fixed the heal lift. I had to crank down the laces a lot to get a snug fit and they felt uncomfortable on the top of feet. For reference I wear a narrow width in a running shoe. Merrell was great with processing the return.

Poor Fit, Done With Merrell

I tried to return these, they were definitely NOT a size 12, possibly an 11. I had worn them over a weekend on a trip and therefore could not process a return or exchange, just a 30% discount for a NEW pair in a larger size. I don't like having to buy 2 pairs of shoes to get the right size. After 25 years of Moabs, I'm done with Merrell.

More Cushioned Insole For Energy Boost

Shoes are very light and quite comfortable on short under 2-mile walks. Think shoes could be further enhanced with adding a better, light, more soft padded insole that will further ensure better foot energy for longer, more aggressive terrain hikes. Wide toe box is definitely a plus.
