Moab Speed 2 Is A Winner

I bought Moab speed gore Tex midsize in February and I love them! So for the summer I bought those! Merrell went back to there roots! The footbed gives me a secure and stabile feeling. In this shoe the gore Tex material works excellent the shoes are not sweaty but they are water resistant! . I walk/run with my huskies daily between 4 to 6 miles and these shoes can take it. I actually do like the color a lot!

Cool Looking

Great look and the fit is very good and true to size. Have used them almost every day for a month for walking and light hiking. So far so good. I may buy another pair.

So Far, So Good

I have worn them about 3 weeks or so. The fit is decent, not perfect (bought them online so was hoping for the best). But they look great and, so far, seem to be waterproof though I try to avoid walking in water with them. Mostly purchased due to working outside early in the morning and all prior shoes I have tried left me with soaked feet from the dew as a result. Happy with that so far. My feet really widen on the outer edge when I walk so that causes the seams to rip from the sole on all shoes I buy. The last pair (I usually buy Skechers) lasted less than 6 months. Some last a little longer but usually not more than 8-9 months. Hoping the Merrell's last much longer. I did put insoles in the shoe to have some arch support (usually do this with all shoes) so they are comfortable to this point. Hoping for the best!

Comfortable Walking Shoe Not Designed For Hiking

These should not be advertised or sold as hiking shoes. With thirty years of backcountry hiking experience, I can say these shoes have the worst trail traction of any shoe I've used. I absolutely do not trust them on the trail. In the Azores a few weeks ago, I switched to casual canvas style slip-ons (like Hey Dudes) on the trail which had significantly better traction than these Merrells. I did it out of necessity. I slipped and nearly fell on a dry smooth tile floor wearing these Merrells. If you plan to walk only on concrete or asphalt, these are fine - but not for real trail hiking. They are very comfortable and I found them to fit true to size. This is my first and last Merrell experience. There are much better options for hikers who need confident traction on the trail.
