Not Worth The Price Tag

So not worth the money. I have less then 25 miles into these shoes and they will not last another 25 miles. I never believed people that would say their shoes fell apart right after getting them. I owe them all an apology. I am walking trails in the woods. Mostly bushwhacks. No concrete or tarmac. And no scrambling boulders. Just plain old pine needles and a few mud pits (Northern Adirondacks). The vibram sole is wearing put at an alarming rate. And the sole is practically disintegrating in front of my eyes. These are made to be used on carpets or maybe working retail or a cash register. Nothing strenuous. I will say they do feel really really comfortable. But do you know what else feels really really comfortable? 500 other brands shoes that are half the price. At the price point Merrell is marketing these at and for what you actually get for that price.....hard pass. Not worth it. There is absolutely nothing special to these that a big box store shoe will do for half the price. Adios Merrell. I just cant with you anymore. If you keep jacking up the prices and lowering the quality then its time for me to move along. We had a good run though. Heck. Put of the 587 mountains I've done, you have been there for probably around 300 or so. Not to mention 1000+ trails and other walks.

Very Comfortable Shoes

Love this shoes. They do have a breaking period but so far I am really enjoying the comfort and they are very stylish too.

Interesting Shoe, But Needs A Few Tweaks

True to size (men's 9.5) and true to the hype (lots of rebound and cushiness). The first thing you notice is that you gain an inch or half an inch in height - pretty tall shoe, but I did not have any problems with the extra height. A bit tight to get on (like the Glove series) and a thin sock is recommended. Support is good, but a little thin on support at the top of the shoe - some unwanted movement at times. Lace system holds fine, but the laces are pretty long after I synch them up. The extra lace length has snagged on various trail items and nearly drags on the ground - flop, flop, flop. I now slide the extra lace length under tightened lace - a better to store the extra length is needed. Shoe is pretty warm, and some extra ventilation would be appreciated. Best use is on easy, non-technical gravel trails or paved trails. I would not use these technical or rocky trails where better support is needed
