Rated 1 out of 5 by from Durability Issues Good, comfortable boot out of the box, but three months in and I'm seeing issues. The biggest issue, stress cracks where the toe flex lines are. I do a lot of bending, squatting, moving and the side of the boot has a tear / stress crack in that area. It wasn't a puncture, a rock, anything like that. You can clearly see it has cracked along developing stress lines. I've contacted Merrell to get their take and test their customer support. I'll update when I know more.Insoles break down fast and will need to be replaced with better quality, might as well do that on day one if you go with these.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from From a longtime wearer of these Boots I'm on my 2nd set of these boots from Dick's. The 1st set lasted me just shy of 1 year. The top rubber split on one of the boots. That being said the rest of the boots look as if they are almost new. When I bought my first pair they were right around $100 and now they are [$]. I hope the Quality Control guys at Merrell are looking for a way to fix the what I would consider defects in these boots so that they can go from a Good boot to an Excellent Boot, one that Merrell would be proud to put their Brand name on. The fit and finish of these suit me well and I hope I can get a year out my new pair before they split. If they go before then I probably will avoid these for my next purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Amazing! These boots are worth their weight in gold! And who wouldn't like 200 grams of gold in their pocket? :) Extremely comfortable, well insulated with extreme grip for tough conditions. I don't think I'll ever buy another brand winter boot again. These are by far the best winter boots I've ever owned. Not to mention, I work in a freezer that it kept at a constant 5 degrees below zero and with a good pair of socks, (like smartwool or darn tough) my feet never get cold at work. I also do deliveries so I'm constantly in the elements outdoors and when the weather is bad, the ramp on my truck can get quite slippery, but the aggressive souls on these boots give me great footing when I'm carrying upwards of 300lbs on my 2 wheeler/dolly. You won't regret buying these boots, trust me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe for its purpose and glad I bought this one. These boots are very comfortable but I call them my snow tires. These will not replace my Merrell hiking shoes when it's fair weather. I bought these for winter wet, snowy or muddy conditions. They are stiff against the ankle bone but I just don't lace that top location and that way I can slip them off and use that top lace for water or snow conditions. The tread on these boots are tall and hard for digging in which is what you need in muddy, snowy winter and trail conditions. I recommend these boots for these conditions. They don't make these in wide. I would prefer a wide but it's not a deal breaker with these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality boot at a great price. I climb towers for a living and bought these to replace a pair of 3 year old Salomon's that finally gave out and had lasted me through a couple of trips to Montana and Wyoming. I have used this new Merrell pair on towers in Upstate NY, Pennsylvania, and on the Eastern Shore of Maryland/Virginia. Very impressed so far. They provide solid support without discomfort. The Vibram soles grip the steel even in icy conditions. Aside from using these for work, my wife and I spent our 5th year wedding anniversary in Elk country (Benezette, Pa) and my feet stayed dry and warm as we hiked along the Bennet branch of the Sinnemahoning creek and throughout the Allegheny mountains. The waterproof label is definitely true. I don't expect these to last as long as the Salomon's did (they were close to $300 and were designed more as a snow shoe) but for $109 these Merrell's are an excellent buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST BOOT!!!! These are by far the best boots that I have ever owned, period. They are great hiking boots for all seasons in my opinion. They made very, very well, and the grip is second to none. Although they are waterproof, and protect your feet and support your ankles very well, they do not make your feet sweat in the warmer months. My original pair that I bought 3 years ago are still going strong. They are rugged and I have put them through the ringer. I am buying my 2nd, and 3rd pair of these boots now, only because unfortunately, I think that Merrell has discontinued this boot for some insane reason.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Waterproofing FAILED after 1 month; Super-comfortable though I bought a pair of these boots in size 10 in December 2017. They were super comfortable and the sole provided excellent traction. However, the waterproofing failed within 1 month, which was incredibly disappointing. Dick's provided an even exchange though, so I'm going to give these boots a second try. If pair #2 proves to be waterproof, then they're a solid recommend. But if I have the same problem, then /definitely/ no friend/family recommendation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performed as advertised I plow and shovel snow as part of my job and I needed a new pair of snow shoes as my old ones wore out. These were a great find. They performed as advertised. My feet stayed nice and dry after working for 48 hours in them. My feet did get a little colder then I had hoped so some thicker insulation would be nice, but overall these are a great pair of winter boots for my area. Worked great for traction and getting in and out of my truck cab and bed.
