Not Women's Sizing
Every few years I buy a pair for my elderly mother, hoping that Merrell has returned to making them in an accurate women's shoe size. Every time I've had to return them. She has worn the Encore Ice for years. But, they are no longer a true women's shoe. I measured this new one against her much older pairs. They are now almost 2 inches longer, much wider, and much deeper than her old pairs in the same size. They appear to be a man's shoe being passed off as a women's shoe. For reference, I bought a 9.5 medium in Fog. I am returning them without reordering another size. I cannot figure out what size she might be able to wear with this pair so completely outsized. Merrell used to pride itself on having a true women's last.

Great Shoes, And Free Easy Exchanges If Needed
I have been wearing these Merrel shoes for years. I like that they provide great foot support and are not slippery. I did want to share that the ones I just ordered are longer than the prior ones (in exactly the same shoe). So I am trying to find my right size. Merrell makes returning very easy. There is no charge and I simply took the two shoeboxes to one of the option stores they gave and they packed and shipped them for me (free). It is worth doing this because I love their excitement only shoes so much, and they are just about all I wear.
