Encore Ice 5 - Not So Good

Eight years ago I ordered two pairs of these and the second pair bit the dust recently. So I ordered these to replace them and am extremely disappointed over the quality difference, especially the interior of the shoe which is skimpy, not as cushioned or comfortable as before. Congratulations on ruining a great shoe.

Probably The Last Merrell Shoe I Will Buy

This is the first Merrell shoe I have not been happy with. After very light use, you can see the fur trim has already rubbed off. While these shoes are not uncomfortable, they are not the most comfortable either. Minimal arch support and they feel flimsy on my feet. I have been buying Vionic and Naot and been very happy with them. They get a lot of great reviews, but I am not a huge fan.

This is my 3rd pair. They are now a much cheaper product (not in price but in quality). Much lighter - which is nice but the quality of the upper shoe is just not there. Very stiff and the lining is much thinner. My two previous pairs each lasted about 3 years. These won't.

Shoes are not comfortable at all. I bought these to replace a pair I’ve had for a few years with a quilted fabric outside with “fur” lining. Little to no flexibility in the sole and too big even though I ordered my usual size 7.5. I kept thinking I could break them in, so I didn’t try to return them. Big mistake!!

Nothing like the original Encore's! They may look similar but that's where it ends. I just threw ooi my original pair after more than 20 yrs, because the bottom fell off... I ordered these, they run a 1/2 size to big and no where near the amount out footbed support or comfort...Merrell...please bring back the original sryle/formula and stop messing around with something that was already perfect. I have to return...so bummed!
