Perfect Shoe

Perfect shoe. Light and waterproof. Took it on a 30 mile 2 day trek in the alps and it performed perfectly without being broken in.

Poor Slip Resistance

Super comfy, love the look, but holy slippery for being waterproof. If you’re taking these on any waterfall, creek, rainy day hike be prepared to slip. The tread is not slip-resistant.

Not What They Used To Be

The fit is good, I do like that. Where I'm having an issue is the mesh toe box. It is wider than it used to be, even on the medium width shoes. I have an old pair of Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof shoes from around 2013 that shows the difference in comparison to the new ones. The toe box on the new Moab 3's allows for a crease to form over my toes. Even walking around my house to test the shoes out, I could feel the crease pressing and rubbing against my big toe in particular. It felt like it was already becoming irritated with the shoes on for 15 minutes, and I can't imagine hiking for hours and up steeper terrain with that digging into my toes. The waterproof Moab 3's that aren't Mid height, but same design, do not seem to have the same issue (I ordered those with the Mids), so I don't understand why the Mids are like this. I tried on different sizes of the Moab 3 Waterproof Mids at a local store over a month ago and I experienced the creasing on my toes with all of them. Would Merrell consider reverting back to the old style from over a decade ago?

Taller, Please

My only issue with them is that I would like them to be taller and cover more of my ankles.
