These shoes literally saved my life! I bought these for a month long dinosaur excavation in Dinosaur Provincial Park. We did a lot of hiking in hard and dangerous terrain with no paths or guide wires. The grip on these shoes is just phenomenal. I was told by an experienced hiker that the shoes I was wearing were the only thing keeping me from falling/slipping. They are very comfortable too. When you are told that a pair of shoes probably saved your life, you have to leave a good review. Now I wear them in the snow and on ice during those Canada winters! I wear my Merrell Moabs every day. My entire life (68 years) has been a mission to find shoes that don't hurt my feet or cause toe and ankle cramping. I've been through a lot of shoes, inserts, Birkenstocks. Ive gone to the doctor, and had bunion surgery. For some reason, the Moabs have the perfect blend of arch and ankle support for my sensitive feet. I have an old pair for everyday and a new pair, cleaner pair for "dressier" occasions.
