Great Straight Out Of Box

These shoes were fantastic and kept my feet dry during a 4-day backpacking trip through plenty of small streams and rain storms. The toe box had plenty of room and back of the boot was comfortable the entire time (I've often had bad pain points in these areas with other brands.) For my first pair of Merrells, these were excellent. I wear a 7.5 but ordered half a size up and they were perfect.

Much Superior To Leather Boots

When I began raising and training horses in the Texas Hill Country, it didn’t take long to discover the benefits of my Merrells over leather boots. They are more comfortable for sure, but they also provide great ankle support that helps me scramble over rocks and up and down hills. I actually order another pair before I need them, to be sure I have immediate access when they finally wear out after much hard work and great performance!

Life Saver! Literally.

These shoes literally saved my life! I bought these for a month long dinosaur excavation in Dinosaur Provincial Park. We did a lot of hiking in hard and dangerous terrain with no paths or guide wires. The grip on these shoes is just phenomenal. I was told by an experienced hiker that the shoes I was wearing were the only thing keeping me from falling/slipping. They are very comfortable too. When you are told that a pair of shoes probably saved your life, you have to leave a good review. Now I wear them in the snow and on ice during those Canada winters! I will never buy a different brand.
