Does The Job

I've worn merrell for hiking for as long as I can remember as the make has incredible arch support. I went with the Moab 3 waterproof in a wide fitting as it offered vibram soles that provide a little extra support in the foot forefront.

Awkward Boots

These feel very boxy and a bit awkward to walk in. There is a bit too much of a rocker motion that when worn on wet floors, causes me to feel not fully in control. They also made the heel loop too small, which make them difficult to put on with ease when standing. My second pair of Merrell’s that I bought at the same time have a wide enough heel tab to fit two fingers, where this pair barely allows you to get your pointer finger inside to pull on the boots.

Great Boot But …

It’s a great boot. Great ankle & arch support. They are waterproof and keep my feet warm. My only issue is that they are disclosed as “runs small”. Then fix this. Make the sizing accurate. When the boot gets wet in the snow & then dries, the toe box is too tight. For the cost, the sizing needs to be accurate, not smaller. I didn’t have the option to size up.

I love my Merrill’s Moab 3 waterproof. They are comfortable and keep my feet warm. My third pair! Took them to rainy Ireland and snowy Buffalo New York. Tried another brand, it was a mistake. Back to Merrill’s.

It hold up fairly well in the snow and ice. It does hurt my feet after a couple of hours of wearing them but overall I’m happy with them.
