Moab 3 Waterproof
These are my favorite shoes. They have a lot of grip at the bottom and are very comfortable. I use them every day for walking, running, and hiking.

Bad And Disappointing
I never got the chance to find out if they were waterproof because they were 1/2 inch too small, even though I ordered my size, 9.5. Width was fine, but I couldn't even wear thick socks because not enough room in the toe area for thin socks!!! I should have returned them, but I thought maybe I could break them in and they might fit better. Nope. Very sloppy construction and design. That's very unfortunate since I have many pairs of Merrells in 9.5 that fit perfectly. These were way too expensive to have them as a show piece on my shoe rack. I do not trust Merrell anymore and afraid to order anything.

The weight is decent for a sturdy day hiker, and the waterproof factor is essential living and hiking around Vancouver (it rains. a lot). Waterproof Tag Vs Gortex
My previous Moabs have GORTEX on the tag. These have WATERPROOF on the tag. I am hoping the waterproofing will be as effective as it is not clear what is being used to waterproof the shoe. Slightly deceptive that there is no information anywhere as to what the replacement is as I was under the impression that the Waterproofing agent would still be GORTEX
