Excellent Product For Value

Received as a gift 2 years ago it has not only used as my go to flashlight around the house and camping/hunting the radio gets a signal where a cellphone doesn't. I've rarely charged it and it functions as if new today for over 2 years. Everyone needs one, whether kept in a closet with your spare batteries and matches or every day use.

Best Weather Radio Ever !!!!!!!!!

I had gotten this a year ago and its never failed to impress i've brought this to school and on vacation. its a really great all around radio, its also very durrable.

Small But Powerful

Very good portable weather radio! The hand crank comes in handy when the battery gets low and you don't have an outlet around. Perfect for the car too when traveling!

Great Radio With Very Few Drawbacks

I keep this radio in the truck to use while sitting at the park, general outdoor use, and for monitoring weather conditions when away from home. The sound is good considering it's a really small, single speaker radio. Changing the volume, changing bands and tuning stations is easy with the push buttons and digital, back-lit read out. The only drawbacks/complaints that I have are that my charging crank handle broke after only a few uses and I wish it had a retracting or flip-up flexible antennae. I still have it and still use it over a year later because even without the crank handle and a flexible antennae, it's still a great little emergency weather radio. Although, I do have my eye on the ER310 E+Ready if I ever decide to replace this one.

Overall

Got this sent to me from Chatt Radio. I get good reception, 95.1 comes in moderate, can even get weak WKNC-FM from Raleigh. The dynamo works, solar works, and 2.2 Ah means long life

Decent But Overpriced Radio - Does Not Charge Phon

Despite it being advertised to charge your iphone, it does not. It is too underpowered to perform this task and therefore, should not be advertised with this feature. Midland is aware of this and have not changed this.

The Weather Alarm Goes Off For Non Emergencies

I bought this for my husband and thought I had done a lot of research and found the perfect item. I wanted something we could have at our house and take with us when we go camping specifically to warn us about a really bad storm or other emergency. Last night, he set the device up, including the WX Alert and, today it's gone off TWICE already. There's no weather emergency - we're just going to get a bit of rain. We have an old Midland SAME digital weather all hazard alert radio and it goes off ONLY in actual emergencies - it's been silent all day today. We'll keep this newer device and keep the WX alert off - we'll just turn on the weather radio channel as needed, but we can't have the alarm going off multiple times a day for non emergencies. a real shame - I bought it for the alarm, but I can't have it going off every time there might be some rain.

Very Handy

Highest reviewed emergency radio, and now that I have one I agree. Does everything it needs to well. Hope I never need to use it, but knowing I have it brings peace of mind.

Keep A Charge

Purchased a month ago. Charged via AC work worked well. Keep a charge. Put away and just left clock on. (Remove battery to shut off) went to use with a blinking battery. 2 hours in sun and no radio power. Cranked 6 minutes and got 1 minute of use. Suggest always keep a charge to be ready for emergency

Handy Little Gadget To Have Around.

I have had two of these for several years, now. I keep them both charged at all times. Being in a place where tornadoes dance, I always know where they are. That is good information to have so as to stay out of storm's ways.

Great Emergency Radio

Well made product and lots of extras on it. It has a hand crank if the electricity goes out and you can charge you phone or other electronics on it.

Second One

Had great success with my first one until the cat knock it into the dish sink full of water. Killed it. The radio not the cat. Bought another one just like the first one. I would recommend this radio to all my friends.

One Glaring Fatal Flaw

I love everything about this radio except the fact that the power button sticks out like all the others, so when the radio is packed, the button is easily pressed by anything next to it. This means the radio is practically guaranteed to be turned on in your luggage, draining the battery. It would have been so simple to either have a recessed button or a "button lock" function like every headlamp on earth. I brought my new, fully charged radio on a week-long rafting trip, planning to use it to keep my phone charged (my only camera on the trip). It was dead on arrival. The hand crank is more or less useless to generate enough power to charge my phone, and being on the river every day didn't allow me to leave it in the sun long enough for any real charge. Luckily a friend I was traveling with had a power brick. Sadly, I may have to return it because of this, although I love everything else about it.
