One Star For A Flawed Bat, But 5 Stars For Miken Customer Service

This is an update to a 1-star review I posted a few weeks ago. At that time, the replacement bat that Miken sent to replace my broken, original bat also broke. Disgusted, I put the broken replacement in the trash, and sent a copy of my review to Miken. To their credit, Miken sent another replacement (actually a different bat, since they have discontinued the Freak Primo Maxload). In the process of chatting with Miken customer service, I learned that very few USA-stamp bats can hold up to the .44 COR / 375 compression balls used in my 50-and-older league, and that USSSA-stamp bats are a better fit. So that's what I requested, and received. After having spent $40 sending 2 broken bats to Miken and spending hours going through 2 return processes, I can't really recommend this particular Miken product. But Miken's customer service has been first-rate. I know when I buy another Miken product, they will stand behind it.

Great Performance But Fragile Construction That Can't Last A Season

I purchased a USA stamp Miken Freak Primo Maxload slow pitch bat last July. It became my favorite bat (I have 4 others) due to its fast break-in and great pop. Early this season, after perhaps 300 hits, it fractured. I sent it to Miken and got a prompt replacement. Happy customer at that point. After another 300 or so hits, the replacement bat fractured 2 days ago, just outside the 1-year warranty replacement period. I scrupulously observed the break-in process and prohibitions against cold weather, batting cage balls, and other hazards, but 2 bats broke, nonetheless. I have older composite bats from Easton, Louisville, and Di Marini, none of which have cracked or fractured. Love this bat when it's whole, but it's too expensive to go through less than a season before breaking, twice. Miken needs to fix this product. Not a happy customer, now.

Cracked Just Out Of Warranty - Zero Customer Service

Dicks is great. This review is more on the bat. Purchased for a Christmas gift in December or 21 and didn’t start using it until January of 22. Bat broke in the middle of the barrel in January 2023 and they won’t do anything about it because it’s past the one year mark. For a $300 bat… it should last longer than a year.
