Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Power I purchased the Bow Mount Edge 45 to replace my older Minn Kota because the circuit board died. Mounted on the bow of my 18' x 8' Starcraft Jon Boat. The flexible shaft is great. The mechanical foot control is much larger and more difficult to use than the previous electronic foot control. The mechanical steering cable is large and clumsy. Power cable was too short for my setup as I have the battery stored under the deck. I like the ability to be able to remove the motor from the mounting bracket. I am able to store the motor inside. It is easier to pull the motor up onto the bow when not in use. Overall I am pleased with the product but disillusioned with the foot control.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disapointing Design My 2016 Bass Tracker came with a Minn Kota Edge bow mounted trolling motor. While it has good power for my aluminum hull boat, it is NOT easy to operate the pull grip rope is hard to lift out of the tube lock. The rotary speed control is hard to make small adjustments in speed. It stays at current speed until you push hard then it jumps to high speed or back to off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Value Simple Motor I purchased an Edge 55 and so far it has worked great and has plenty of power to move my aluminum boat. It is a simple motor and doesn't have any fancy features but for the price that's as expected. I wish the foot pedal had the metal plate on the bottom of the pedal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not all minn kota’s fault Bought a new 18 foot aluminum bass boat from bass pro. They put this model trolling motor on there, stock. It’s not powerful enough to pull the boat. It’s difficult to put in and out of the water. It’s been in the shop twice in under 2 years. It cannot handle any sort of weeds at all. A small boat might be fine with this. But really, this is a very underwhelming product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst product The trolling motor stopped working on speeds 1 and 2 3,4,5 seem to be working very slow and this is after one summer. I really thought this Minn Kota had a better product. This is the second product that has issues that review will be about there chargers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible speed control I purchased new boat in Jan. 2018, had I known this trolling motor was on it I would have upgraded, speeds 1 and 2 won't even move my 18 ft aluminum boat and 3 is too fast to fish, told that is the way these are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good motor Very good motor for the price because all the other foot pedal motor are very expensive

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice motor with a lot of good features This trolling motor came preinstalled on my 2018 18ft Bass Tracker. It has a lot of decent features. The foot pedal is clumsy but adequate. Lifting the motor in and out of the water is easy. I have accidently ran this motor into submerged stumps at speed and it took the beating with no issues. I assumed it would be adequately powered. It works well for medium to small lakes on my large 18ft boat. The settings 1 and 2 are fine for trolling the weed edges but when entering weeds only 3-5 will get you through. I started fishing a larger, electric motor-only lake with 2 to 3 grown men riding with me and that is when I realized this motor is underpowered. Crossing the 500 meters from one side to the other takes forever, especially if there is a wind. On setting 5 it is still very underpowered for long distance. On a 15 foot or smaller boat or a smaller lake it would be fine but does not meet my needs anymore.
