The Minn Kota® Trolling Motor Power Center is ideal for small boat transom applications (boats that do not have battery compartments). This power center features easy access external battery terminals that allow trolling motor leads and charger leads to be connected without opening the box. A built-in battery meter displays the current charge level. The power center fits group 24- and 27- size batteries

I bought this a week ago even tho it came faster than expected it was missing the strap for the box so it was really pointless to get it had to buy a random strap before using it , and they wanted me to return the whole thing just to get the strap I paid for I do not recommend there delivery no matter what !!!!

Own two, work deceptively well for FLA marine batts in warm weather, but needs audible FLA alarm and charge level and alarm support for LiFEPo4 batts in colder weather. Beware Spotlocked cold water and current flow situations as your trolling motor can cut off unexpectedly.

Melting accidents are most likely caused by loose connections inside the box - like power cables to external contacts. Loose connections => high resistance => heat. Since you most likely do not plan to use this for heating, take it apart (upper lid), tighten all the connections, and lubricate tiny screws holding the lid flap in place before corrosion completely destroys the tiny Phillips recess on them making disassembly a pain in the rear.

I bought this in June 2022. I Put it in the boat in mid July. I used it once and had to remove motor from boat, but was unable to get the wing nuts loose to disconnect the motor harness on both positive and negative sides of box. Ended up having to remove the box cover, remove interior battery connections, and then remove the motor, captive to the power center cover. Into the garage where I could see, and had tools to remove the lid from the motor harness. Unfortunately, this could only be accomplished with vise grips because the cheap plastic cover over the terminal stud allowed the stud to spin and the only way to do it was to pinch the stud enough to undo the wingnut. This was further aggravated by the fact that MinnKota motor harness had somehow tightened onto the stud and would not release. I would like to point out the wing nuts were hand tightened, I then had to take the cover apart to properly secure the stud that appeared to have either improperly tightened during manufacture, or mysteriously come loose during one short outing. I have had MinnKota products for over 15 years and this is the first time I have had a problem. Is this indicative of product quality, or a one of? If I get the proper parts to resolve this issue, I would be happy to rewrite my review, but for now I cannot recommend this product
I bought a power center it was supposed to have a battery for the price I paid I do not recommend this item

The top should have been designed with latches to secure top to bottom--even when you cinch up the single strap as tight as possible the lid is not tightly secured to the bottom. Then when you lift it by the handle the strap loosens a bit and the ends of the top flex and top is then no longer tight to the bottom. It makes carrying the battery feel very insecure and makes you think the bottom with the battery in it could drop off at any time. It needs latches, not just the single strap Otherwise, happy with the design and function

So nice to not have to take battery out of the box to charge it or check to see how much charge there is.
Worked great until I sped up to get to shore and started sparking, smoking and melted the wiring and box. Support centre apparently has never heard of this happening and states its user error. Not impressed, esp for the price. Be aware

Good sturdy box, built in breakers (60 amp for motor and 10amp for the accessory outlets). Bit pricey for sure though. Also, I had a size 29 battery (everstart) already so I tried it before I went and bought a 27. Fit like a glove!
