Stiff Glove With Bad Lace Placement

This glove is hard to break in, and while I was able to get it to break in, the laces are laces right at the pinky knuckle making it uncomfortable to wear,

Great Quality Materials; Incredibly Hard To Break In

I bought this glove Feb 29, 2024 from my local store for my at the time 10 y/o daughter that plays travel middle IF and OF. I've broken in many gloves over my life time, even gloves that were more stiff then this one. I've done the mallet process many times, used warm water twice, ball in pocket and wrapped for days many times, ball in pocket and rolling the glove on the table, played catch for 8 months and even used barbasol shaving cream in spots to soften the leather. When I put my hand in the finger pockets and try to close the glove, the area above the pinky/ring fingers is stiff and pinches my hand. Seems the velcro strap also prevents the glove from closing, unhooking the velcro the strap, it still doesn't allow it to close. Pictures show glove open, best I can close it and arrows showing where the glove pinches when closing.

Stiff As A Rock

My 15yr is so disappointed, we’ve tried everything to break it in, nothing has worked and it’s been a few months! Don’t waste your money. Contacted mizuno online and it’s very unfortunate they could help!

Love It!

My daughter loves it it’s so beautifully made kinda hard to break in but what glove isn’t

Great Glove!

I purchased this glove 9mo ago for my daughter who plays centerfield at the elite level. Sure, it was time consuming to break in. But with time it is an absolute gem!

Don’t Waste Your Money

Bought this glove for my daughter. Had it steamed which found out is a Mistake to do. Voids all warranties. Glove is so stiff you would probably have better luck catching with a brick. Now I am stuck with a crap glove my daughter can’t use

Great Glove For Fastpitch

Daughter has been using just for practice at this point but is loving the glove and with breaking in at the store it needed little extra work.

Awful!

Bought this glove for my daughter 3 seasons ago. It is STILL too stiff to use. We have done everything imaginable, short of running it over with the car, to break it in. It will not close around a ball. Like another reviewer, my daughter has had to borrow another glove. Don’t waste your money.

Quality Glove

I've had this glove for 5 years, played at the D2 collegiate level and this has been the most comfortable and quality glove I've ever owned. It takes time and persistence to break it in, but once you do it is amazing.

Great Glove

This is a great glove but we are having a hard time dealing it in.

Built To Last

My DD has been using this glove for travel ball the last 3 years (one year of 10U and 2 years of 12U, pitcher and 1st base) and it's still in really good condition. Only here to get a new one b/c she wants it in white. He're a photo of it the day she got it and after 3 years. It's still good, just needs the laces tightened. A good purchase.

Read Reviews After I Bought The Glove. Yes It’s Stiff.

It’s stiff, but I was able to get it game ready in about 2 weeks. I don’t know how what these other people are doing to try to break in a mitt, but I’d guess this is their first attempt with a mitt over $199.00. It’s not a toys R us mitt, this mitt is supposed to last. Don’t give a mitt a bad review because you don’t know how to break it in properly. Put some effort into it!

Can’t Break In

I bought this glove for my 13 year old daughter who plays travel ball. We have gotten it steamed and pounded 3 times, I’ve oiled it 4 times, put it under a mattress several different times. Nothing will break it in. It is so stiff at the bottom that you can’t squeeze a ball. My daughter has had to borrow other people’s gloves in games because the ball wont stay in it.

Defective Thumb Mechanism

We purchased this glove and my granddaughter was unable to move the thumb enough to catch a ball. She is a pitcher and plays infield. This is unacceptable. After having it steamed, oiled and beaten on three separate occasions, we decided to return it. We were told it was too late.

Do Not Buy This Glove!!

I bought this glove over a year ago and it’s still not broke in (yes I know how to break in a glove) I play travel ball where many games are played in one day so the glove has had a lot of use. The leather around the bottom of your hand is so stiff it practically makes it impossible to squeeze. It is also impossible to make a good pocket. This glove is probably one of the worst gloves I have ever had so save your money and buy a different glove.
