Spend the extra money and buy this one. This is truly one solid piece of wood that will probably last for many years. My son has broken in 2 gloves with this tool and with the help of YouTube ball glove king

I bought this a few months ago to use while breaking in gloves for my customers. Works great for hands on pounding. Not too heavy but also not too light.

Bought a cheaper option before but was too slick and kept sliding out of my hand. The texture on this works much better. Tie the knot on the leather as hard as you can otherwise it will eventually untie and the mallet will go flying.

The mallet is one-piece hard maple, with both the handle and mallet head shaped ideally for beating on a high-quality baseball glove. Worth the price especially if you think you’ll break in two too-quality gloves in the next two years. High-end gloves (Rawlings Heart of the Hide), Mizuno Pro Select, Wilson A2000, etc., don’t come broken in. And those machines and methods that use steam or heat are expressly not recommended by glove makers and may shorten the life of a glove. The best way to get a new glove ready to play catch is to inflict violence on it with a wooden mallet like this one. You’ll probably break a sweat using it, but it helps you get your glove bending the exact amount you want in the places you want it to bend. If you can’t buy one, borrow one. Its fun! Once you’ve broken in a glove using this mallet you’ll want to get another glove just so you can break it in.

Makes break in a much faster process. Wish I bought one years ago.
