Just What We Needed!

Bought 4 of these bikes during a great sale. Fantastic value, solid components, stylish and everyone is enjoying them.

Bad Service, Never Received Bike

I’m sure the bike itself is great. I ordered the bike online and gave them a few days to assemble it. I called to see if my bike was ready, and they said it was not ready yet but would be either that night or the next day. I confirmed on the phone that I would receive a call when it was ready for pickup. I never received a call to say that the bike was ready for pickup and the order was cancelled automatically. I was not charged, I’m sure the bike is great, but I am not thrilled with the service I received.

Happy

I am happy with my bike purchase. Smooth ride and gears shift easily.

Entry Level Worth Upgrading

The Switchback Expert has better frame geometry compared to a Trek Marlin. Up grading the heavy coil spring fork is not a problem with the tapered head tube to a light weight air spring fork will shave 5 lbs. off the bike. The rear wheel hub is a 141mm qr .is a limiting factor. No through axel. You can up grade to a 11 speed on the stock rear wheel. a new rear wheel with a Shimano wh-mt500 hub with microsline free wheel will get you 12 speed. The bike is light and fast and fun to ride. Sale price of $550 is hard to beat.

Great Quality Joy To Ride

First mountain bike from somewhere other than Walmart. Rides smooth and handles great

For $600 Out The Door You Can’t Go Wrong

Had a few issues getting the bike from Dick’s. I made the trip 3 TIMES, the first time I was emailed that it was Ready, get there and they said it still needed to be assembled. I come back later when they said it was good. I Get there and they tell me they had an issue with the assembly process and configuring the cassette to shift smoothly. End up going home for the night. Came back in the morning and the bike was finally ready. I just took it out on its first ride this morning and I’m pretty impressed with the bike, as I’m 6ft 1 and 250lb. The bike held up just fine. I would recommend upgrading to an Air Fork assembly though.

Bad Experience

I bought my bike a week ago, today was the 2nd time i rode it. All was normal when suddenly the rear break broke and i fell down really hard. Im unhappy and very dissapointed because it shouldn't happen, ITS A BRAND NEW BIKE! IM REALLY DISAGREE WITH

Seem Like A Good Bike.

So first off looking at the other reviews, Dick’s I would bet some of these with pictures who have said the assembly was easy with the pictures showing the fork backwards, the bars upside down or the stem backwards. As far as the bike I bought it for the frame as I had upgraded parts to put on the bike. The pros I can see is the frame seems to be very strong, the geometry is very good and the upgrade ability was pretty good. As far as the parts that come in the bike, I would have liked to seen a set of wider tires but the tread pattern was pretty good just narrow, it was nice to see hydraulic brakes, and the group set for the price of the bike is not too bad. Overall I would say it is a good bike but take advantage of the “pros” at Dicks to put the bike together if you’re unsure.

Style And Functionality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bike is amazing. It was super easy to assemble with the instructions. The bike is stylish and sleek and rides so smoothly!! The wheels are thick and great for most terrain. I haven’t had any issues with it this far. Get yourself one!

Love It! 🫶🏼

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not expecting to have to assemble the bike but luckily it was super easy to put together and only took me about 10 minutes (not even) Super excited to try this out now that the weather is getting nice again!

Smooth Ride!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Mongoose Switchback Expert is a beautiful bike that makes riding so much fun. I’m 5’ 4” and this bike is the perfect height and weight for me to lift and ride easily and comfortably. This durable bike has 27.5” tires creating a smooth, stable ride. I love how it has a front suspension fork that absorbs a majority of the bumps on the road or trail. The gears are easy to use and the breaks work great.

Beautiful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed testing out this bike. I love the bigger wheels & various gear settings. I wished the seat could be lowered just a bit & that it had been made thinking more of comfortability. The color is beautiful & putting it together was a breeze. The weight isn’t that heavy and it’s an easy ride.

Great Starter Mountain Bike!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first mountain bike to ever own. I’m 5’5” and the 27.5 inch was a tad bit too large for me. It’s the perfect size for my fiancé who is 6’ tall. We both love the baby blue color. The bike rides smooth. It’s very simple to switch gears when needed. It took my fiancé about an hour to put the bike together. It was easy to do with the instructions included. It’s difficult to give a thorough review because I received this bike in the middle of the winter and reside in central PA. It’s been too cold, snowy and rainy to take it on any trails yet. My fiancé did ride it around our house to try and get a feel of how it felt so I was able to submit a review by the due date. I took away one star because there is no kickstand! It’s a pain to have to lay it up against something, as I don’t want it laying on the ground. I will come back and update this review once the weather is nicer and my fiancé is able to hit some trails with it! He and I have been wanting to go mountain biking together for awhile now. I will most likely be purchasing the same mountain bike, but in a smaller size! I am looking forward to many fun adventures mountain biking once the weather is nicer!!!!
