Great Value If Your Little One Isn't Quite Ready For A Full Size!

Bought this bike for my nephew to learn on and it's been fantastic. Really well made for the price point and uses standard sized components. We've had no issue doing a few upgrades (for fun, not necessity). The screaming lime green color is a sure-fire hit with basically any kid that sees this bike too! I'm already eying another one of these Scans for my niece next year!

Decent Price / Bike Wasn't Ready Like Email Said / Waited An Hour

I received an email saying the bicycle was ready, but it was not rideable- it needed adjustment. Last year I bought a Scan 6.0 for my oldest son and it was assembled perfectly. This bike had way too much tension on the brakes. I was told by the senior tech that "all BMX bicycles" have the brake grabbing like it was LOL. I was troubleshooting, disassembling and swapping wheels out when I was 8 in 1989 - he wasn't born yet. It's easy to adjust the brake cable so the wheel spins freely, but is....a millimeter or two away from the wheel.

The Mongoose Scan kids bike is a great choice for young riders who are just getting comfortable on two wheels. It’s sturdy, easy to control, and the design looks cool enough that kids actually get excited to ride it. The brakes and are simple to use, making it beginner-friendly. Overall, it’s a solid, affordable bike that holds up well to everyday use.
