Rated 4 out of 5 by from good first fat tire bike good overall bike, but unfortunately the front tire was put on backwards and the handlebars were too far back. Well all component's are at a decent level for the price, the brakes are not that great if you do any kind of descending even at minimal level. They screeched and had bad grip and sent a vibration throughout the whole bike, I up graded my brakes and have no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comparable to $1200 bikes at LBS! You cannot go wrong with this bike! Components are quality & this bike is super light. Don't be fooled by the snobs who think you need to spend $1200 on a fat bike. Spend less than half of that and laugh at the idiots who spent double what you did! Paint is exceptional on this bike & setup was a breeze even for a beginner it's a cake walk. Change components that you'd like, myself I did pedals, then seat. I'd read of someone getting this bike to sub 25lb, so about anything is possible. I've been riding mine for a bit over a year now and could not be happier! I promise you will not be sorry. Btw: mongoose has been very responsive to any issues people have had, so rest assured they will correct any issues, if they arise. I liked mine so well, I bought a second one within weeks of the 1st.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only thing entry level is price and tires Have been riding mine for 1 year. Apx. 500 hard miles of single track . Replaced tires after first ride in snow . Veerubber tires do not work ,even with only 5 psi in them. Replaced cassette and chain after 400 miles. Put on clipless pedals. Brakes work well . Seat was even comfortable. Only reason not a 5 was the tires and shifting could be better. Only thing holding this bike back is the rider

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Derailleur Issues Ordered this bike online and brought to my local Dicks store to have them build it. The technician called me and told me there is something wrong with the front derailleur that won't allow the chain to shift onto the biggest gear, he had tweaked everything he could think of to make it work but had no luck. I was refunded for the bike and am going to order a new one and try again. An Online search of this bike shows similar issues with the derailleur experienced by others. Looks like a great bike, and hoping the second doesn't have the same issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fat bike I have several bikes, my 2 favorites are a cannondale m700 and a trek liquid 30. now I have 3, this bike doesn't have the top notch components the other 2 have but, its a pretty good bike for the money. I did have to adjust a few things after i got it. dicks put it together and I fine tuned the front and rear Derailleur. the bike has a low enough gear to crawl up anything you want, and on the top chain ring, can get you moving. I will change the stem, and most likely the seat and pedals. otherwise a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very fun ride While not built for speed, this bike is a great ride. It handles well, has great geometry, is at home on sandy trails by the river, yet climbs well and shines on single track. The more I ride it the better I like it. Fat bikes are one more way to have a fun time on the trails, and the Mongoose is a budget friendly way to do that. So far I'm impressed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for why I bought it. Liking this bike so far, only had it out three times for a total of 11.4 miles mostly on logging roads, and I like where it takes me. I am making a trailer to pull my turkey and duck decoys to some out of the way spots. I'll know better how I like it once I see how it pulls the load. Two complaints, the seat is way too small for my anatomy and the way I intend to use it, pedaling slowly down woods roads, and the grips have no cushion at all so I am replacing both with softer, bigger models since weight is not my concern. Sales people in bike shops will look down their noses at it I'm sure as they were trying to tell me that even an $800 bike is entry level. Well, their level is a lot higher than my intended use. Assembly was easy, but I did take it in to a bike shop to have brakes and detailers adjusted since I am no bike techie. As I said, so far so good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mongoose Vinson Fun bike for trails and beach. Not top of the line components but adequate for relaxed riding experience. Needs fine tuning after assembly. Recommended at the discount price.
