No Camera Card

Go back to having a camera card so that the camera can actually be used without having to pay monthly to use it. I understand having to pay for the cellular data but it’s nice to have an option to get the picture off without having to pay more. This is especially true during the off season when they are shedding antlers and growing them. There is no sense in getting the picture right then anyway. With a camera card i can go check it from time to time and keep tabs on what is going on. And the 16 AA batteries run out prior to my 1000 pictures on the low plan leaving me to decide if I should waste 8 more for the remaining pictures or not

The pics come through quick and clear most of the time, catching deer way out there even at night without lighting them up like a Christmas tree. The app is straightforward, with handy alerts and sorting that actually helps spot patterns in deer movement. Sure, the subscription adds up if you run multiple cams, and batteries don’t last forever in spotty signal areas, but pairing it with a solar pack keeps things running smooth. Overall, it’s reliable enough that I don’t dread checking it, and the twin-pack deal made it feel like a steal. Solid buy for anyone tired of old-school SD card hassles.

Buy Something Different

Purchased two Edge 2 cameras to place strategically in sensitive areas of my property, intentionally keeping the area undisturbed. Only one of the two cameras has even made it out into the field because I’ve had nothing but issues. I also placed a separate SD-card camera within 3 feet of the Edge 2, and it consistently captures videos that the Edge 2 completely misses. If you’re going to invest the money in a cellular camera and pay for a subscription, buy another brand. Spend the extra money and get something reliable. The support team has been great, but in my opinion, I shouldn’t have to call as often as I have.
