If You Can Only Afford One Rain Shell...

If you can only afford one rain shell, this is it! Lightweight, breathable, comfortable, AND waterproof! I wore this during the steady deluge of a Pineapple Express rain event for over an hour and remained dry and comfortable. All of the zippers (main, armpit, pocket) have been trouble-free. Keep in mind this jacket lacks a two-way zipper and an internal pocket, but despite these shortcomings I find it to be an excellent value!

Ok For Light Use. Watch Glued Seams…

I have had this shell for about 5 years. Like many say, the DWR is enough for a 30 min shower, but wets through if you are in decent rain for longer than that. Wash it first to get that DWR working optimally. My issue is the seams made only of glue(no stitching) eg on the hood are now letting go. I will buy a fully stitched product in future, and for my Needs a truly waterproof material eg Goretex.

Verified Purchase

Much Thinner And Less Stretchy Than Advertised.

This jacket is much much thinner than it looks in any photo where any advertisement for it as well as stretch ozonic the material stretches almost nothing.

Not Waterproof!

Not waterproof at all. Love the weight of the jacket and softness of material, but that's probably why it's not a good rain jacket, at all. Returned it.

Bad Dwr?

Jacket seems all good except the DWR on mine doesn’t seem to work. I sprinkled a little water on it, and the water only beaded up for a few minutes. Then it started to saturate the outer fabric. Per the mfr recommendation to ’activate’ the DWR, I washed it with double rinse and dried it on low heat. Outer fabric still saturates quickly. Other jackets like Patagonia Torrentshell do not saturate for long time with the same test. Do I have a defective jacket, or is the DWR really that bad on these jackets?
