I’m still pretty new to camping and figuring out what works for trail meals, but this one was a solid win for me. It couldn’t be easier — boil some water, pour it in, wait a bit, and you’re eating. No pots to scrub, no mess to deal with, which is exactly what I want after a long day of hiking. The taste honestly surprised me. For a freeze-dried meal, it’s way better than I expected. The creamy sauce with the beef, mushrooms, and noodles actually feels like real comfort food — not just something you eat because you’re hungry and tired. The pouch says it’s two servings, and technically you could split it with someone… but if I’m being real, I usually just eat the whole thing myself. After hiking all day, it doesn’t feel like too much at all. If I had to nitpick, the calories still aren’t super high for a big trail day, so you might want a small snack on the side if you’ve really worked up an appetite. But for me, it was filling enough and gave me a little boost of confidence as a beginner camper. I’d definitely pack this again on my next trip.
I picked a bag of this up at meijer just to try it and I am honestly really surprised at how good it is. It doesnt taste like my moms stoganoff, but when you're broke and hungry you can make one of these bags stretch about 2 or 3 days. It feels vaguely like eating my moms food again, even just for a second. Solid 9/10 man I'm buying a bucket next check. Cant submit my review without a picture, so heres a picture of my dog

This is my daughter’s favorite backpacking meal. She loves the flavor. Super easy to make. Tastes good.

I've used many of the Mountain House meals on my backpacking trips. Always convenient. Always tasty. This one is 2 servings. I've learned to pack a smaller flat tupperware dish for the 2nd serving. It fits perfectly at the bottom of my food bag. I love leftovers. And, it's almost always better the second time anyway!

I've had Mountain House packets after 1994 California Northridge Earthquake. When power is out and you don't have access to local stores this is an addition to your pantry. If you need to walk out of a emergency carry a lot of canned food can be weighty. The taste is good and ease of preparation is simple. This is my #1 brand for Emergency Food.

Bought this for a long bike trip. It was very lightweight, rehydrated well, and was good flavor.

This a solid staple in my emergency food supply and my backpack. Great flavor and one of my favorite Mountain House entrees. Can’t go wrong with Beef Stroganoff.

I bought a pack of this to taste and instantly went for the drum purchase next. Absolutely delicious! I haven’t had anything from this company I didn’t like.

I’m sorry to say I was sadly disappointed with the flavor or lack there of the Beef Stroganoff gravy. :(

When feeding the family in camp the cans just make more sense, they're easy-to-use and we get the same great meal.
