I’ve eaten a lot of Mountain House on three different elk hunts and a couple other hunts and I can’t say anything more about how great their food is. I have a few favorites but I’ve gotta say that the chicken and dumplings is at very top. When I plan my hunting trips I will have at least six or seven of them for a week long hunt.

Obsessed With This Meal!
Took this mean on a backpacking trip about a month ago and as I settled down after a long day of hiking I wanted a warm meal that didn't require too many steps. This chicken and dumpling meal was the first item I pulled out of my bag. This was the first time I tried it and it was so good! It took no time at all to rehydrate, the consistency of the food was perfect the bread pieces were not 100% rehydrate and still had a slight crunch that reminded me of the crust of a chicken pot pie. The meal hit the spot and was delicious. It was easy to make and easy to bring being that you rehydrate in the same pouch it is contained in. 100% will buy this again. In fact I bought 2 more today!

Hot, Comforting Meal
I read so many good reviews on this so I wanted to try it for storing with my hurricane supplies. I added about an extra 1/4 cup of water and let it sit for an extra 5 minutes (from previous experience rehydrating freeze dried food). It tasted really good. Honestly, if I didn’t see the packaging I couldn’t tell if it was chicken and dumplings, chicken pot pie, or potato soup. But it doesn’t matter, it was good and I’ll store a few packs for power outages.

My Absolute Favorite!!!!
I’ve been buying these meals for a few months now. We have a remote summer cabin & going to the store is an ordeal. This chicken & dumplings floored me!!!! It’s truly shocking how amazing this one is. Thank you Mountain House. Please never stop making this meal. They’re all good though!
