Not Up To Mh Standards

Well, I like many of the mountain house offerings, this product gives a little bit to be desired. Too soupy for a M&C meal.

Bought For Emergency

Wont know how it tastes until an emergency. But im sure it will be fine. Have had others no problems with taste

Joel

It was watery using the recommended amount of liquid. Maybe smaller noodles will help them cook without needing so much water?

Mac And Cheese Are Hard, Needs More Flavor

I bought two of these from different stores for my 4 day backcountry trip and each time I tried them they never tasted fully cooked. I've followed the cooking instructions per the packaging and even had another person cook the second bag yet the results were still the same. They weren't enjoyable to eat and the meal always felt like it was a bit lacking. I feel like this meal would benefit from the addition of some meat on top of it. Mountain house offers better flavors with more consistent cooking such as beef lasagna. I love mountain house food, but I wouldn't get this flavor again.

Great With Steak!

Love this with Steak! Plenty of sauce and obviously easy to prepare

Tastes Great

This was really good, easy to travel with, great product

Very Poor Mac And Cheese

I bought this a few years ago and decided to test it today in my kitchen. It required double the hydration time to finally soften the crunchy noodles. By then the food had cooled so I poured it into a dish and microwaved it for 40 seconds on full power. The result was a kind of mac and cheese soup with a very watery sauce and bits of "cheese" product floating alongside the noodles. This product is very bad and I would not recommend it except in a dire emergency when no other food was available.

Soupy Cheese

This would be more appropriately called "cheese soup with macaroni". I would have preferred a little less soup and a lot more macaroni.

Good Stuff

Good stuff for camping and was delicious!!!!!!!!!!

Very Tasty But A Little Crunchy

I ate the Mac & cheese just out of curiosity. I followed the directions & let it sit for the amount of time the pouch said, stirred it & let it sit more. I tried a bite and it was still a little crunchy, so I let it sit for about 5 more minutes than the instructions said. It was still crunchy, but edible. Overall the taste is great. I bought several pouches for my husband to keep in his get home bag in his semi. I think they’ll be fine if he ever needs them.

Good Flavor, More Time Needed For Rehydration

My wife and I tried this and while we thought the flavor was fine we both thought the noodles needed much more time to rehydrate. I waited the initial 5 minutes, stirred waited another 4 minutes per the instructions and found them to be tough. In the end, I waited 20 minutes and while better still could have used more time. Yes, the water was boiling but I admit not a rapid boil. Next time, I get a rapid boil going and see if that makes a difference.

I Am Yet To Have A Bad Meal.

The lasagna is the best. Macaroni, very good. I have also bought and enjoyed the blueberry crisp. Delicious for breakfast.

Mac And Cheese - Pleasantly Surprised

Excellent flavor. Texture was better than expected. I had never tried dehydrated meals before. Bought more and will use in the future.

Overall Tastes Good, Easy To Make

Like most Mtn House products, easy to make in the puch (I admittingly will use a tiny bit less water to keep it from being too soupy in some products). The Mac and Cheese tastes good as a stand alone, but I often add some black pepper+bacon bits or cajun seasoning that works well too.

Crunchy Noodles

I love Mountain House Meals but I tried Macaroni and Cheese for the second time (following the precise instructions) and the noodles are crunchy. They don't cook right.
