Covers Picnic Table +

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 2 years of use now, I've used this for camping in 1x AK, 2x CO, 4x MN, 1x WI . High winds, heavy rains, sun and heat. Fits perfect over picnic tables for cooking, setting up gear and taking down camp. Won't leave home without.

Good Value

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Compared to similar tarps, the Mountainsmith tarp is a good value. I bought it mainly as a dining fly to cover a standard 8' campsite picnic table and it did a pretty good job. I use it for a three day camp in northern Vermont. It stood up to moderate wind and rain and kept the table mostly dry from blowing rain. I may use it for Spring and Fall backpacking, when bugs are not an issue. Overall a good product, with eight reinforced tie out points and a catenary cut ridge line for taughtness.

Awesome Shade Tarp

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took my tarp to the lake the first time out and the wind was sooo strong that weekend but the tarp held fast all weekend and ready for my next adventure!

Excellent Car Camping Or Backpacking Tarp

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My only objection is the weight. This isn't a tarp I would carry on a multi-day backpacking trip, but for car camping, or to haul around for a day or 2 - perfect! I did buy lighter stakes to shave off a bit of weight. Can't speak to durability yet.

40+ Mph Winds Bwca

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I couldn’t believe the tarp was still in place our second morning in. The winds were constant for 4+ days and the Mountainsmith stood fast. I replaced the stakes(no brained) and use a Dutchware R.L. & guylines. Incredibly fast set-up as well as rock solid. 10 stars!
