Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little unit I bought this knowing that it would be cold while my wife a i where tent camping in northern Minnesota this past week. My wife and i have not been camping in at least 10 years now that our children are grown and moved on. we thought we would buy gear and try it before it was to late. we are in our late 50's. this heater worked great in our 6 person tent. we where warm and when the propane bottle ran out you did notice it! it got down to 40 deg each night. are tent was warm. it does use one bottle per 5 hours on low. (1lbs) bottle so figure on 2 1/2 bottle per night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great heater! I bought this heater on the recommendation of a friend of mine who camps with his Boy Scout troop regularly. Glad I took his advice! Took it to Scout Days at Daytona Beach Speedway on the 5th of January; temp went down to 30 Friday night and 36 the next night. Snug and warm in my tent with this heater. I ran it to warm up the tent, turned it off and ran it again the next morning. Very easy to light and get going. I did place the heater on a square of 1/4" plywood on my tent floor. I don't think that it's really necessary but I just felt a little better doing it; sort of like wearing a belt with suspenders. LOL I would definitely recommend this heater; am very pleased with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great when it worked -- May had been defective We bought this heater last fall for a camping trip to the NC mountains. It worked great when it was functioning correctly!! The first night, it shut off for no reason -- we couldn't figure out why and checked all the safety precautions, read the manual, tried different propane canisters, and everything. Then, the second night, it was a struggle to get it lit and STAY on. It worked for a few moments, cut off, and we couldn't get the pilot to stay on by itself after that. We gave up and I returned it.Am interested in purchasing another one, hoping the one I had was just defective. But it was the BEST luxury when temperatures dropped!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, when it works (which is rarely) Bought a new Heater Buddy specifically for a cold weather camping trip. 5 others had them too. Every one of us had the same issue: sometimes it would work, and other times it would shut off after a few seconds. Sometimes it would run all night, and other times it wouldn’t even start. Since all 5 of us independently had the same issues, I’m pretty certain Mr Heater Buddy suffers from a design flaw. Many in our group gave up trying to use it to keep warm in their tents and resorted to sleeping in their running cars to stay warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You Can't Beat IT!! I have yet to actually use this heater however the reason I bought it was because I have a buddy who has this same heater. I know it's a quality unit. It is worth having and I know I'll be glad I have it once out there in the cold. Safety features are the main reason I wanted it, shuts off when tipped over, shuts off on low oxygen. You don't need a match to light it either. I won't sleep with it running in the tent but it is nice to have when waking up in the early morning and perhaps sitting in the screen area of the tent at night. I like it a lot and recommend it completely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm At Football Game My 83 year old mom wanted so badly to see her grandson play in his State Football game, but we were so concerned it was going to be too cold for her. I found this online and was able to purchase it, pick it up in the store the day before the game. She was pleased that I did pick it up. I had other parents checking it out, or they just seemed interested because they were so cold.We will definitely be using it during early morning baseball games coming up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept our Tent Warm All Night! We camped out and the weather was in the 40's. The tent heater kept us warm all night. I was impressed by the safety features. If you tilted it slightly the heater automatically shut off. I will definitely make this one of our camping staples.
