Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okay but not Awesome The hard side works well to remove chunks, but the brush is not that helpful. I'm a proponent of scraping the dishes clean and then using boiling water only to sterilize. I hardly ever use soap in the backcountry to clean dishes-- harder to deal with the grey water that way. The GSI compact scraper works much better as it has a hard side (like this one) and a flexible side, which is key for a good cleaning. The brush just clumps the food to itself... then you have to clean the brush, which is a pain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is awesome! I have been looking for a dish tool like this for years! Works perfectly for scraping off things that I was pretty sure were going to be stuck on my MSR camping dishes for the rest of their lives (forseeably forever). Small enough to fit anywhere and tough enough to last. Thanks MSR!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for keeping things tidy Being the camp chef this was given to me as a gift. It works great for scraping dishes clean. The brush works great for getting into the hard to clean areas like in between fork tines or on the pot grabber. So far it has been safe on all my pans and cookware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skepticism washed away. My wife brought this home while we were getting ready for the John Muir Trail, 220 miles through the High Sierras. Great opportunity to lighten our aged gear with new tent, bags, new air mattresses, my trusty Whisperlite... and what the heck is that? My initial impression was that is the goofiest camping gadget, ever. We needed to minimize weight and impact, yet not get sick with sketchy sanitation. That Brush/Scraper was amazing. It allowed minimal use of soap and water, yet was much more reliable than fir cones and pine needles (but didn't smell as good) at cleaning even scorched on noodles. It really worked! We didn't get sick, well there was that oyster Po' Boy I had in Mammoth Lakes the night before we hit the trail at Yosemite, but that only lasted 24 hours. We carry it all the time now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indespensible tool for the camp/backpacker cleaner!! This is one of those tools i wish i would have thought of inventing. I love MSR products anyway, but this is a must. I usually volunteer on backback trips to wash everyones pots and bowls, etc. and this will make it easier. I use it everyday at home in washing vegetables as well. Better than any vegie brush i have seen or used. i thought that $4.95 was a little high for this product, but after using it, i would probably pay $6.95. Thank You!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I believe this is why god created sand! I have always used sand and a stream to clean my dishes in the field. I guess this might be useful if I didn't have access to sand. I don't find the shape of this to be very well thought out. I have a bunch of scrapers from Pampered Chef that are square with 4 rounded corners all of different radiuses. That would be a better tool than this goofy 45º angle thing. I think I'll pack that in my gear. Thanks for the "suggestion".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, light, clean, durable I picked this up at Christmas and have brought it on multiple backpacking trips since. It is the best and most simple way to clean your dishes in the backcountry. I have the MSR Alpine SS pot set and this scraper works great to clean off food gunk. Plus you don't dirty up and wet down a rag that you would otherwise bring and is slightly more sanitary than using your finger to run the pot "clean" :P

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to do The stiff bristles of the brush are tough enough to dislodge most of any remaining cooking residue. The variety of curves and angles on this scraper allows you to easily get into all those tougher to get to places. AND I simply put a small caribiener on the scraper and attached it to my Dutch oven carrier so it always handy! I've only used it 3 times so far so durability is still undetermined.
