This Is My Second Pair

This is my second pair of 25" Lightnings. I've finally had to retire my 2004 pair, which were spruced up back at the factory once and now are embellished with judiciously applied duct tape. They have performed yeoman hard service in the backwoods of the Taconic mountains and will deserve their place of honor hanging on the garage wall. They have taken me everywhere, up, across and down steep slopes, through sapling-choked thickets, and over ice and rock. The best!

Great Price Great Quality Snow

Great price great quality snow shoes for off season savings price!!!

These Are The Best Snowshoes

These are the best snowshoes I have ever used. No problem hiking in the Adirondacks with these on your feet. Can’t say enough about them. They are very well constructed and the bindings are easy to use.

Great Snowshoes!

I’m a beginner in snowshoeing but these are great. Easy to set up and get going. The quality is great. They have some teeth on the bottom that helps handle well in icy areas. And I was able to travel across soft powder with a pack full of camera gear no problem!

Great Option That Makes Snowshoeing Enjoyable.

Easy to get on, easy to take off. Very stable with loads and do not get crossed up like other snowshoes I've used. Conditions so far have been light and heavy power, pulling a pulk, and hiking. Great option for a no nonsense workhorse that is light and nimble.

As It Is The End

As It is the end of the snow season, I would have to hike in higher elevations than I am comfortable in right now.

Great Winter Hiking Addition!

Purchased these so my husband could join me on snowshoeing adventures and they are amazing! Has all the upgrades that make them comfortable with his winter hiking boots and the strap system is an improvement on prior models. Great for both low key snowy walks and more serious incline approaches.

Ascent Are The Best Snow Shoe Made

We bought these last year, it’s a little early for snowshoeing this year, although I must say the Ascent is the best preforming snow shoe I have ever owned. They are easy to put on, very lightweight, and give you the confidence to maneuver in all kinds of conditions. I would highly recommend

Great Snowshoes!

This is my second pair of Womens Lightening Ascent Snowshoes. I purchased the first pair when they first came out and used them for many years. I replaced the bindings on the old snowshoes and still have them as a backup pair but they are 25 inch models and I wanted the shorter version; so, I purchased a new pair. The new snowshoes have an easier to use binding than the old ones and the heel lift seems to be places in a better location for smaller feet on the shorter snowshoe. Other than the improvements to the new model they are still the best snowshoes I have ever used. It is important to get the narrower women's model if you are a small person. I have tried the men's model and they were too wide and more difficult to travel in. I a 5'2" tall with short legs. I have had minimal issues with snow balling up and secure grip on steep icy terrain. I am a big fan of these shoes.

I Only Used Them Once

I only used them once before I had my knee replacement surgery.

Mat

Solid Shoes

I have three pairs of these in different sizes and they are absolute workhorses for pushing through deep snow. I use them for wildlife surveys in the boreal forest and arctic so they see a lot of miles through heavy snow with a ton of undersnow obstruction. I've only recently had to replace some of the crampon assemblies due to the straps wearing out. I had the old three strap system, and MSR hooked me up with those older sets since my cold weather boots don't fit into the Paragon bindings. Will definitely buy again when they finally break. Please offer the old three strap system as a purchasable option though!

Let It Snow!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So my extreme adventure girlfriend laughed at my old snowshoes and told me she was not going BWCA MN winter Christmas camping with me unless I got these new shoes. Well so far MN winter has sucked and we have no snow only rain and 40 temps. Trip is postponed until mid January. Hey they look great hanging in the garage. Even though I have not used these shoes I do shoe quite a bit and can tell these are of high quality and research has always led me to these prior to purchasing. I hate to admit, but my girlfriend is probably right again.

Great Snow Shoes, Msr

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The MSR Lightning Ascents arrived when expected. I have used them 4X in the first week. As expected the snow shoes perform on the steeps up and down, and in powder and they handle well on firm trails, and maneuvering around rocks and crossing streams.

Great Snowshoes, Even For Very Large Boots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these as my first pair of mountaineering snowshoes on recommendation from a friend. They're definitely one of the more expensive options on the market, but they're great quality and worked really well for the hiking I've done so far in the White Mountains of NH, even on steep grades. I wear a size 14 wide insulated hiking boot so there was some concern about fit but these are adjustable enough fit with a *little* bit of extra room to spare.

Great Ratings

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought these shoes for the upcoming winter season. A friend let me borrow and older version last year for my first winter hike. The new model looks nice and the bindings are easy to use. I also purchased the tails.
