These are a key piece of water filtration for us! We use the trail shot for quick day trips and the gravity filtration system with the trail shot for longer backpacking and camping trips. It filters water quickly doing 4K others in around 20 minutes. The trail shot is light and packable and great option to fill your bottle quickly in. Stream along the hike. Definitely recommend this system. I’ve had my system for going on 7 years and replace the filter annually.

Love the trailshot. Small, light weight, and functions in limited water sites as well as flowing streams. Only downside is the rapid rate at which the filter becomes unusable.

Practically cheaper and easier to just by a whole bother unit

My Trail Base filter was over 6 years old. Even though the usage count was fairly low, the flow rate during filtering was quickly degrading. This item was the trick to get performance back. The prefilter didn't fit with my version of the filter so I just ended up reusing the old one.
