15+ Years And Still Going

I got my first stove in the early 2000 and still use it to this day

Winter Favorite

I use the whisperlite in winter for its reliability. Perfect for melting snow with a 2L pot. In summer and fall I prefer the ease of use of a canister stove with the pocket rocket.

Bacon On The Beach!

Great product. Tried and true design. Reliable and easy to operate and maintain. Bacon on the beach for breakfast. Does it get any better?

A Must For Winter Camping

After a January camping trip in NH, where temps dropped to 5 deg. F, and I couldn't get my MSR Pocketrocket to work, I purchased this lifesaver. Used it in February, again in NH, and will forever more carry my WhisperLite in the deep winter.

No Blue Flame W Propane - Normal?

Not getting a blue flame only totally transparent flame w propane. Is this normal with the Whisperlite?

Tried And True Performance.

Tried and true, it's obvious why the whisperlite remains the top expedition stove. Although it's quite different than the canister stoves, it was very easy to learn and get used to. Boiled a liter of water relatively quickly below freezing temps. Very excited to continue using the stove throughout the winter. I definitely recommend for anyone who enjoys winter fun like I do.

Buy It. You Need It

I have used this stove above 12,000 feet and on boats all over. I have travelled to other countries with it. Every place and every time it’s been reliable and works great.

Great Stove , But Needs Simmer Capability.

Great little stove, light weight, lights easily. The only negative is the lack of ability to simmer, and every time you light it the underside is covered with black messy soot.

So Confused

I took a group of three to do a section on the AT in NC, and as always packed my whisperlite stove. First meal prep and with new white gas and the stove did not know if it was to use the burner or primer bulb. This stove has always worked with the exception of this trip. I ended up using a penny stove I carry in my cook kit. Any solutions?

Solid Gear

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this last month and I am glad that I did. It performed flawlessly in 0 degrees for days on end. Yes it is bigger than a PoketRocket, but if you need this stove, then you are already in winter conditions, so freaking deal with it. This thing is tight, it dies exactly what it is supposed to, makes my cold stuff hot, and keeps me moving on long hikes in rough cold weather conditions. Buy it.

Ingrate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have wanted one of these stoves for years, but just kept using my old brass Svea. This year I decided to play Santa and bought one for my son in law. Pearls before swine! He wasn't even grateful. Just goes to show you - no good deed goes unpunished. Bah! Humbug!

Back Packing Stove

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my son’s birthday. It arrived quickly. He is so excited to use it when the weather warms up and he can go hiking. It is small and compact.

Great Stove! But...

This is a great light stove for anyone looking to get a durable backpacking stove. It can be a little hard to prime if you are not used to a Whisperlite. If you use MSR's Superfuel there is still a bunch of Soot when priming. The stove burns hot... Super hot...... Don't expect to simmer and do amazing meals unless you are used to this stove.

Little Hard To Prime On

Little hard to prime on the first go, besides that it’s a super great stove!

There Is A Reason Its A Classic

Works like a charm. I’ve used the stove several times since purchase without a problem. To those who do not know, it does not come with a fuel bottle, so order one separate.
