Love Some Mr Bags

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased both the Coulee 30 and Scree 32 and decided to keep the Scree 32. Both bags are really awesome and very similar but I decided on the Scree for the interior pocket, I preferred the exterior aesthetics and I loved the hunter orange color.

Perfect Carry On Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] About to embark on my 3rd trip with this bag, and it's been perfect. I use the front 2 stretch pockets for sandals and a metal water bottle, and the side stuffs for layers or other cold weather gear. The small void quick attach is a perfect toiletry bag that stays accessible for medications, etc, and the tri zip allows you to access items at the bottom of the bag easily, even on a plane. I personally take the hip belt off, but it's nice to know that I have the option if I were to use it as more of a hiking bag (I've hiked with it a few times, still haven't seen the need for a waist strap).

Awesome Pack!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the Mystery Ranch Coulee 30 everyday for work. This bag can hold way more than you think it can! It also is great for hiking and it has awesome weight balance. I hardly know it is there. Built extremely well and I know it will last a long time. I've been through alot of other brands of packs before and the quality of Mystery Ranch is amazing. The warranty is great to have to. If you're thinking of buying it, do it! You won't regret it!

Great Hiking Bag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve taken this bag out on a few hikes, and it’s very comfortable and well constructed. The zippers work well, although the middle zipper sticks a little on the way down (this seemed to be the case on a YouTube review I saw as well. I think it’s just due to the shape of the bag when it’s not totally loaded out and not an issue with the zipper). When I adjust a strap, it stays where I adjusted it and several of the straps come with helpful little Velcro strips to wrap the excess strap so it doesn’t hang down all over the backpack. The top zipper pocket is big enough for the sort of stuff you want to have handy during a hike and it’s oriented so that everything won’t fall out when you open the pocket after you put the bag on the ground with the part that fires against your back facing up. The hydration bladder pocket is a bit narrow, so you need to load your bladder in without the pack full of stuff. With the waist strap, you can load this thing down, but I’ve been hiking without the waist strap, and the bag is still very comfortable with three quarts of water, a sweater, and a rain suit. When the thing isn’t totally loaded out, you can tighten the straps which hold down the outer pockets and it compresses the main compartment so that all of your stuff doesn’t pool up at the bottom of the bag and make it uncomfortable to carry. It’s a good hiking bag. I’ve also used it as a plane carry-on bag for trips that I expected to hike on. It is not great for that. There’s no place to put a laptop or tablet except the main compartment and if you use the external pockets, it’s hard to fit enough stuff inside for a two day trip. The bag is long and skinny, so it doesn’t fit under an airplane seat. This is not a problem with the bag, as this is absolutely not a bag meant for flying, but I thought it might be a thing people would want to know. One last note I would have found helpful to know. The sizing is mostly about waist size I think. I got a Small/Medium because I have a 32” waist, and I was worried it wouldn’t have a tall enough yoke for my 5’11” frame. I ended up several ticks below the maximum extension of the yoke, and it works fine. I think if you aren’t much more than 6 feet tall the Small/Medium should work for you if you have a small waist, although I will say that I wear the waist straps high because I have high hip bones.
