Rated 5 out of 5 by from To Failed to Deploy I can guarantee you this head did not fail to deploy. I've been shooting them in one form or another for 24 years. I currently shoot a Mathews Z7 pulling 55 pounds and have never had a problem getting two holes unless I hit the opposite shoulder. I have seen times when the blades will come forward after passing through but rest assured they did open. Normally the skin will stretch and you will get a fist sized exit hole. The entrance hole will not look as big as it would with other types of heads on the surface but once you get the hide off the deer you will see that the head did indeed open. These heads are some of the best on the market. I've experimented with other heads but I keep coming back to spitfires for effectiveness, ease of use, and accuracy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed to Deploy Shot a deer last year with these and the blades did not deploy. Luckily, it was a great shot and I found the deer after some tracking. Thought this was just a fluke and was willing to give the spitfires another chance to prove themselves. Shot another deer over the weekend and the blades once again did not deploy which lead to only about 6 inches of penetration (got lucky and recovered this deer as well). I was thinking my bow did not have enough fps for the head to function properly, but I am shooting a Mathews Switchback XT at 73# draw weight which should be more than sufficient. Going to Rage Extreme which my father has had great luck with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Broadhead This season I switched from Rage to NAP to try something else and I found that this broad head does amazing work leaves big blood trails and huge entry and exit holes. Killed a buck at 20 yards quartering away and he didn't go 10 yards and killed a doe that didn't go 50 great broad head and can be used again in my eyes will be buying more in the future

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable performance!! I have used these for years! When I find something that works well, I stick with it. There's a lot of new products out there, but if it's not broke don't fix it!! I hope these will continue to be available, and not be discontinued for newer marketing purposes! There's a lot to be said for reliable performance, and peace of mind in good equipment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crossbow mechanical Broadheads I have used this product for 4 yrs and never lost a deer. They deployed 100% of the time . Enter and exit the deer with HUGE . Prior to using these was only disappointment more times then not. Since I started using this product ..... 100 percent recovery ..... The down side is I dont spend as much time in the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate with a capital "A" I have had my brand new bow worked on at a highly reputable and very professional shop. However, we still couldn't get cut on contact broadheads that I have used for 30 years tighter than 4 inch groups.I switched to these mechanicals for the first time ever and I am shooting 2 inch groups out to 40 yards.I haven't shot a deer with them yet, so I cannot attest to their sharpness...unless you count my old target that is now shredded to pieces from just a few shots with these things. I am sure there are plenty sharp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Broadhead I have been shooting Spitfire heads for 10 years. I have harvested more deer than I can count with this head in three different states over this 10 year period. Every time it's the same result "Deer Down"! The wound channel is massive and blood trails are easy to follow helping with a higher recovery rate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pinpoint accuracy, extremely tough! I watched as a friend shot this head through a deer lengthwise! He made a good shot, but the deer whirled on the shot and the head broke two ribs going in, through the lung, liver, gut and broke the femur in several places, and exited the hindquarters. Now don't think this was a bad shot. It just proves how tough these heads really are! The cut was huge and all blades deployed fully. The blades were still sharp and tip in perfect shape. Just a little touch up and this head will be ready for the next victim!
