574s have been THE SHOE I purchase for work on repeat, but not any more. This last time I needed new work shoes, I ordered two pairs. As I removed the tissue paper wadded inside to help them keep their shape, the insoles came out with the paper. Then, that led me to check out everything else. There are loose threads on the exterior stitching, and the quality of fabric used on one pair already seemed like it was fuzzy and started to pill, like an old sweater. I’m really disappointed because I live in an area where there aren’t any stores within an hour of me, so my options for returns are to either drive more than an hour away to exchange them or pay for shipping again just to have them returned. So I decided to wear them anyway & just glue down the insoles myself. But this will be my last purchase from New Balance.
