Got the RC Essential for my marathon. Shorts were very light weight; had 0 issues with chaffing; and the multiple pockets let me avoid wearing a running vest. Only draw back is they fit a little wide/baggy. But overall a great pair of shorts for long runs!

Perfect For Women Too!
I bought these in store last week for my first marathon, thinking they were unisex. I wanted a pair of nice breezy shorts that weren’t too short to avoid chafing. After running a full marathon in them under scorching sun where I had to pour liters of water on myself to keep cool, I couldn’t recommend them more. Super comfy, breezy, quick to dry, allow full range of motion and I didn’t chafe at all. Can’t wait to use them again!

These RC Essential shorts are much better fit than the more expensive RC shorts that have a much tighter brief. They are both rated as “slim fit” but liners are completely different.

Lightweight and comfortable. The zippered pocket at the back is the best feature of this shorts. It can fit my Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra and a couple of gels. My keys fit on the smaller hip pocket. And the contents of the pockets don't bounce around. I don't need a running belt anymore!
