My First Pair Of New Balances Get A Thumbs Up
They will be stiff when they come in, and require some wearing in to get comfortable. Size 12.5 has gone extinct in recent years so I'm stuck buying size 12 and going through a tough break-in period with every pair no matter who I buy from. I recommend buying your usual size if there is one that fits you from other brands. If in doubt, go one size down, because the heel has a tendency to fly away as I step if the fit / lacing is loose on this model. The stock in-soles are a thin layer of foam garbage. Replace them with your Dr. Scholl's of choice and you'll be much better off. Not a knock against the shoe itself. The construction of the shoe is sturdy, stable, and supportive enough all-around. I wear these with black canvas work-pants and any t-shirt I feel like, my style is unassuming but I feel so far that they work well for that vibe. The logo and a few other minor garnishes on the shoe are actually made of Hi-Viz material, which is hard to tell from pictures alone so be aware of that. I found it an inoffensive surprise that adds a touch of character to any outfit I would normally wear. I purchased the Black/Black colorway and the effect is mostly complementary, more-so if you have a sportier style.
