I've been wearing New Balance shoes for many years. I wanted shoes made in the USA and bought the 990v. They are well constructed and give great support, but I wish they had leather tops. Somehow, my toe, inside a sock, cut a hole in the mesh just behind the toe of the shoe. It's very unsightly. For a shoe at this price point, the tops should not wear out from the inside.
