I bought the 1080 v14 with the black upper and the white midsole and outsole. They are supremely comfortable, I got them in a 9.5 4E. The foam is soft and compresses well under foot but like some have said it does feel rather tiring on the calves after 20 mins or so, as if it is absorbing too much energy and not springing you back up. But I don't mind this so much, I would need to compare properly. Also if so, it gives you more of a workout. I wanted the most impact protection for just walking for my tendons around my knees. So I don't actually do any running in them. The mid and outsole tapers outwards slightly and to be honest the outside is very wide, too wide in visual terms. And being white, it really stands out and when i tried them on I was horrified how they looked, it was like having frog's feet or something. My mother spotted them and her face could not disguise her horror at how they looked. She did not like them at all lol. I compared them to the Hierro v.9 I just bought and the height of the sole is identical but the width of the outsole is nearly 10mm narrower and they look fine whereas the 1080 looks really ridiculous. I don't regret buying the 1080, I just wish I had bought the all black ones (they were out of stock here in 4E and everywhere else) - so shame that NB don't restock very often. I may dye the midsole and outsole black. If the midsole had been bicolour it would break up the sole visually and wouldn't look as tall or as wide.
