The More Trail Lives On
For the past several years I have been doing my trail running in the NB More Trail, which I have liked very much, so I was sad to see it discontinued. To be honest, i have tried on past iterations of the Hierro and have not liked the fit. However, I recognized the More Trail’s DNA in this latest iteration of the Hierro, so I decided to give it a try and I am very happy that I did. I would say the grip and cushioning of this shoe are on par with the More Trail, which is to say “excellent” on both counts. The upper is a bit more snug than the More Trail, but that’s not a bad thing as I did find the More Trail to be a bit “loose” on technical terrain. Despite this “snugness” I would still call this new Hierro “true to size” at least in relation to other NB shoes I have owned. I see now that there is a waterproof version available. I’m not thrilled with the one color choice, but I may buy it as a winter shoe.

Comfort, Style And Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable and actually quite stylish for a trail shoe. I've been running in these for a couple of months, and I feel secure in terms of how they fit, feel and operate. The toe box is sturdy and grip is great (which is expected for trail shoes). There is also a decent level of cushioning which has been nice. Overall, I'm in love with these.

Versatile Styles And Comfortable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Took the Hierro v9 out for a trail recovery run and they did their job. Cushion felt smooth on the rocky stuff, grip was solid, and when I got back the material was super easy to clean. Definitely a pair you don’t mind getting dirty because they bounce right back. Perfect recovery shoe.

About New Balance Shoes
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Fresh Foam X Hierro v9 on the trail. The sole looks thick and heavy, but it didn't feel heavy at all when I held or wore it. When I ran in them, I found that they were highly cushioned and I was able to run on any rough terrain without worrying. I also got a good amount of rebound from the ground, which allowed me to move forward with ease. I felt that these were very well-made shoes.
