I like the shoes; they feel great for walking and running, and they look great. For hiking, though, I had a better one. The cushion is designed to provide the required stability in more technical terrain. The wide front, which is comfortable for regular walking, feels less supportive on downhills in hiking.

Disappointed - Ankle Pain From Stiff Collar

Was really excited about these shoes after my first run and almost bought another pair. I'm glad I didn't since by my third long trail run in them I had some of the worst pain I've ever experienced in a running shoe due to the sides of the shoe digging into the outside sides of my ankles. After more than a decade of distance running including multiple ultras, I've never experienced pain from a shoe like this and I'm hesitant to ever wear them again on a long run. If you start to noticed this irritation on the side of your ankles from the stiff collar, don't make my mistake and assume it won't get worse - not a fun experience to deal with when deep in a trail run.
