Solid Update
I was looking for a solid daily trainer that would take me beyond the 9-10 miles that Rebel V4's maxed out at. I've only run about 20-30 miles in these so far but the feel like they will do the trick. This update feels a decent bit more cushioned and decidedly more structured in the upper. It's been wet and cool here and they've done well and dried out quick enough. No slipping so far and the extra cushion is responsive enough. The new tread feels nice and I was surprised at just how flexible it is given that it covers more of the forefoot than the previous version. I wear and 8.5 in most shoes and the regular fits my slightly wide feet just fine (a bonus when looking for specific colorways). I opted for the Electric Indigo and Truffle Salt and they give a nice slightly retro vibe. A little mud and road grime rounds out the aesthetic. For those who might be thinking about adding these for a 1/2 to full marathon training plan these would make a good daily/easy longer run shoe or a comfortable race day shoe for someone aiming for a 9-10 min pace (maybe faster). The extra cushion does feel like it *just barely bogs you down a little bit, but I suppose racing in plated shoes will make anything feel like that in comparison. It's a running shoe, slap them on, throw on some tunes, go.
