Great Look, Poor Function

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and avid runner, I can’t wait for the “squishy shoe” trend to end. From a biomechanical standpoint, this level of cushioning works against the way the human body is naturally designed to stand, walk, and run. The shoes look fantastic and may give the illusion of support - especially for runners with joint pain - but ultimately they provide a false sense of what’s truly needed for healthy movement. As much as I wanted to keep them for their style, I returned them. For now, I’ll stick with my less stylish but more functional Altras until the major brands create something that truly supports better biomechanics.
