Bouncy fun shoe that makes holding race pace easy. I'm a 190lb midfoot striker who tends to fall back torward heel striking when I get tired/sloppy. It is a tall and fairly heavy(9.3oz in size 11) shoe overall and I'm guessing that it wouldn't be considered a fast race shoe for those elite and other quick runners, but for the average runner that is looking for a fun shoe that holds up to quick paces this is a fantastic option. Upper is light and airy with plenty of ventilation, ankle collar is adequate and I personally don't have any slippage. I do wish the tongue was a qtr inch longer as I like to do a runners loop and i would like the coverage just a touch higher. Laces are a touch long if you don't do a runners loop, dbl knot them. The midsole is the best part. For having a plate, this is a really comfortable shoe. It is softer and bouncier than my Superblast 2(which I love for different reasons) so it's just so much more fun than my daily trainers. When I pick up the pace the plate seems to activate and really help push my knees back up through the gait. I will say, that when in toe-off sprint speeds, my super light Noosa Tri 16s are faster. the SC Elite V4 is chunky and you feel it when sprinting. I really enjoy running in these and bought a 2nd pair after reviews for the v5 seem to describe this model going in a different direction, more drop, stiffer and these are a GREAT value at closeout price.
