New Balance Has Changed
I used to run in Nee Balance for decades and then I stopped. Although I still have some new Balances running shoes, they are not what they used to be. I remover that their technologiy used to be Abzorb. Abzorb actually did help with the absorption of the shock that is created with every step you run. The energy return to your foot and body was reduced by the technology in their shoes. I don’t even think NB uses that technology any more. With all that said, this sneaker was very light and felt good on but just couldn’t get me to believe in the technology and what it will do for my body and run.

Great Shoe For New Pb's
Big propulsion, like driving a sports car. Very enjoyable, much faster, feels light but a bit unstable and demands you go fast. New PB's all round but not a daily drive.

Fast Stable Narrow Racing Shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One of the Notch RC runners reviewing this shoe. Fast stable shoe, certainly narrower than the V4. Felt a firmer ride. At the marathon distance I think I preferred the 4 for the cushioning, but certainly up the half this felt a faster and light shoe. Very comfortable shoe, wore them twice before wearing them for a very hilly marathon and dismissed feeling pretty good. No rubbing spots at all. Even though it’s narrower than the V4 it’s still true to size, I was concerned I’d suffer sore toes as the race descended for the last 4 miles but no issues at all and finished back sub 6 min miles. Overall I’d say it’s a better racing shoe than the 4, but the 4s comfort mat give it the edge at the marathon distance. But my legs do feel fine straight after the race.
