New Balance Men's Ohtani 1 Metal Baseball Cleats

About This Item

Shohei Ohtani is a true, once-in-a-lifetime talent. His world-class skill on the mound, at the plate, and on the bases is a combination that’s practically unheard of, and it demands a shoe built specifically for the unique needs of the two-way player. The Ohtani 1 is that shoe, and it’s set to rewrite the definition of on-field performance. A molded CPU upper is designed for superior durability through the high wear of pitching’s repeated toe dragging motions. The sole unit, informed in part by insight from Shohei himself, features a 10-spike configuration designed to be closer to the ground, for a consistent feel anywhere on the field, regardless of position.

Design:

  • Creation informed by Shohei Ohtani’s biometric data and design insight
  • Lightweight synthetic mesh underlays with metallic ‘N’ logo
  • A TPU wing on the lateral midfoot wraps up from the sole plate to help stabilize the foot

In-Shoe Comfort:

  • FuelCell foam delivers a propulsive feel to help drive you forward

Durability & Traction:

  • The plate surface is flat, highly polished, and refined to help prevent mud or dirt from caking
  • Raised triangular pattern provides structure and flexibility, while providing superior durability, throughout the course of the long season
  • 10-Spike configuration is designed to provide a unique, closer-to-the-ground feel

Fantastic, Please Make Tpu Or Molded Version

This is by far the most comfortable cleat I've ever had. I have the black/gold, grey/pink, and black/gold turf model as well. They have held up and remained comfortable for more than a season of catching along with some corner infield and a little pitching. I would really love it if New Balance would make this in a molded or TPU option. My main field has switched to turf mounds, and three of us wear SO1 cleats, but can't wear metal on the turf mounds. The turf versions are okay, but not quite enough grip, especially in morning games when they're a little slick on the surface. New Balance, please make a molded or tpu version of this cleat.

Runs Narrow, Even In 2e

Really nice spikes, but they are tight in the width, even in the 2e size. I have worn New Balance baseball spikes a long time and have always had a good fit with the 2e. I tried all of the new NB models in 2e and they are all too tight. Reading other reviews, this seems to be a common theme. The wides are no longer wide enough. If ordering, go up at least one size and it may work, althought it did not for me.

Great Cleats And Fit

Comfortable fit and hoping to get a couple seasons or more out of the cleats. Great design with wider toe box and higher ankle support.

Great For Softball Too

This is the second pair of these cleats that I have bought for my daughter. They are great because she had a ankle injury years ago and these help keep everything nice and tight.

Very Comfortable .

I bought them several months ago and went back last month for the white ones . We like the brand balance because they are very comfortable.
